Green Key

What is Green Key?

Green Key is a voluntary eco-labelling scheme for hotels, accommodation and other travel businesses.

The programme is currently the biggest global eco-labelling scheme for overnight accommodation. Green Key is recognised and supported by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP).

Sanngrund is Green Key eco-labelled

The Green Key eco-label is a clear demonstration of the fact that Sanngrund takes care of the environment. There are many criteria - everything from energy, laundry, waste management and information work to being a responsible employer.

We implemented one of the initiatives to become more environmentally friendly in our operations in spring 2016 when we drilled for ground source heating. Ground source heating is a form of geothermal energy and requires a modern geothermal power plant. Our heating and cooling costs have been reduced, and renewable energy represents a great eco-friendly alternative. Achieving environmental awareness through our daily operations plays a key role.

We hope that our guests will co-operate with us in this regard.
